A garage floor takes more abuse than almost any other surface in your home — hot tires, road salt, dropped tools, oil, and constant foot traffic. A properly installed coating system doesn't just make it look better, it protects the concrete underneath and makes the space genuinely easier to live in.
Garage Epoxy and Polyaspartic Coatings
Our Process
Every job starts with surface preparation, and this is the step that determines whether a floor lasts 15 years or starts failing in one. We diamond-grind the concrete to open its pores and create the right surface profile for adhesion — skipping this step (or using acid etching instead, like some lower-cost installers) is the number one reason coatings peel or bubble down the line. Cracks, pits, and previous coatings are repaired and removed during this stage.
Once the surface is ready, we apply a base coat — either epoxy or polyaspartic, depending on the system and your timeline. Epoxy offers excellent adhesion and build thickness, making it a strong foundation layer. Polyaspartic cures significantly faster and handles temperature swings better, which matters in an Alberta garage that sees big seasonal shifts.
Depending on your chosen finish, we then broadcast flake or blend metallic pigments into the base coat while it's still wet, giving the floor its color, texture, and — for flake and metallic systems — its wear-hiding and slip-resistant properties.
Finally, every floor is sealed with a clear polyaspartic topcoat. This is what actually gives the floor its long-term durability: chemical and stain resistance, UV stability (so it won't yellow), and resistance to hot tire pickup. It's also what gives the finish its gloss or satin sheen.
Cure Times
Foot traffic: safe after roughly 24 hours
Light use / walking equipment across the floor: 48–72 hours
Vehicle traffic: we recommend waiting 3–5 days
Full chemical cure (heavy chemical exposure, hot tires): up to 7 days
Polyaspartic systems cure faster across the board than traditional epoxy, which is why we often use them for timelines where you need the garage back in use quickly.
Why It Holds Up
The difference between a floor that lasts and one that fails almost always comes down to prep and layer count — not the marketing on the label. Our systems use full mechanical grinding, proper base coat thickness, and a genuine protective topcoat on every job, which is why we back our work with a straightforward warranty instead of an inflated number with fine print behind it.
